It does not matter who started it - if both users violate our netiquette rules, we unfortunately must block both accounts. This also applies if the contact was made via our platform and the insult is sent via WhatsApp, for example.
Looking for accommodation can be frustrating, especially if you do not get any replies. We therefore ask all users – people offering and people searching for accommodation - to reply to messages, even in the case of a rejection. For example, you can use our template function to reject an application. But please also try to be understanding if you do not receive a reply. Perhaps the other person is currently under exam stress or ill? You should also avoid contacting an advertiser just to point out that the rent is expensive. Maybe the advertiser is just passing on his landlord's default. If questions arise, answer them only if you feel comfortable doing so and, if necessary, explain why you do not want to answer a particular question. As a rule, please always think about how you would feel if you received a message as you are formulating it.
