Inhabitants of a business flatshare can profit from each other personally and professionally. The other types of flatshares offer advantages as well – among others financial ones.

Business flatshare, varied-age flatshare, 50+ flatshare, seniors-only flatshare, students-only flatshare, single-parents-only flatshare, room-for-help, communal or non-communal flatshare – the various types of flatshares are as different as their inhabitants. Common to all flatshare types is the fact that their inhabitants use common rooms like kitchen, bathroom and living room together.

Advantages of the different flatshare types

Living in a flatshare offers the advantages of saving costs and living in a kind of modern network.

In a non-communal flatshare saving costs is paramount. Joint activities only play a minor part or don’t matter at all.  For someone who is merely looking for an affordable flat and is out very often, this flatshare type is the perfect opportunity to save costs. One of the most established forms of flatshare is the students-only flatshare. One out of four students takes the chance to live cheap and to socialize in a flatshare. It is not unusual that flatmates become friends, so it gets much easier to settle down in a foreign city. Even after moving out flatmates do often stay in contact. However, living in a flatshare nowadays is popular among seniors and working people as well. The business flatshare for professional commuters between 20 and 40 is one of the newest forms of flatshare. This kind of flatshare is an affordable alternative to hotel rooms or single apartments. Beside private friendships, business contacts can develop here as well. In a varied-age flatshare people of different ages live together neighborly. Especially for older people this means a lot of help. While the older generation takes care of the children, the younger generation can help carrying heavy bags. This way, the inhabitants support each other. A flatshare for single parents is one of the forms that are getting more and more popular these days. The flatmates can alternate in babysitting and support each other financially.

For people over 50, the 50+ flatshare is a suitable flatshare type. Here they can live together independently and without external help. Thus, a 50+ flatshare differentiates clearly from a seniors-only flatshare. In room-for-help flatshares, young students live together with people in need and help them. In return, they pay less rent.

Living in a flatshare means making compromises and abide by common rules. This is why it’s important to find flatmates who share your ideas of cleanliness, tidiness and lifestyle. If you match, nothing stands in the way of a harmonious flatshare-life.
